Title: Flannel Pigs
Rating: G
Characters: Buffy and Joyce
Summary: Reminiscing about Christmas past and present. Complete with flannel PJ's.

Buffy smiled. The Christmas season always meant hot cocoa with mini marshmallows, baking cookies, curling up by the fire and watching "Miracle on 34th Street", and turning the thermostat down to a solid 47 degrees to simulate chilly weather in sunny California. Of course, turning the thermostat down also meant breaking out flannel PJ's - complete with sleepy pigs all over them.

"Mom, how long have we had these?" She yelled down the hall as she unfolded the pjs and held them up.

"A while dear, why?" Joyce poked her head out of her door, she was in the midst of wrapping presents. She smiled and stifled a laugh as Buffy held them up. "It looks like they need to be donated."

So, I realize that I haven't even started letting this journal live up to it's full potential. Work, life, and retarded relationships continually get in the way of my writing and I continue to hate all of it even more. I'd rather just write but alas, someone's gotta make money, do work, and be a functioning member of society. That would be me. As the new year begins, I'm going to make a bigger and better attempt at updating this with new works of fiction (as well as my fanfiction profiles - I've neglected those even longer). I've joined some groups that offer prompts for drabbles and such, so hopefully that will give me some inspiration for actually doing something with myself at night.

For those of you who don't know me, and may randomly get directed to this site, welcome - I promise I don't bite...hard.

No, I'm not a vampire, vampire wannabe, or any of that. I'm a "normal" human being, living and functioning in society. I wear suits and heels to work, I commute in a city that's too big for it's own good, and I'm looking for a different job. But all of that is besides the point. I'm a writer at heart. I love to write. I hate writing for a deadline, which means I'll probably finish something I start, but it won't be for a while, which, understandably, sucks if you like to read what I write. Learn to deal with it. I'm a HUGE "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan (as can be seen from my icons, my fiction, my dvd collection, etc.). I really love Buffy's character and what happened over the first 6 seasons. I really wasn't a big fan of season 7 - that whole "she alone can defeat the vampires" slogan that was through the entire series, didn't really seem to be very obvious in the last one. That and the "Slayers-In-Training" annoyed the crap out of me. But I will, one day, own the entire series, including season 7, so I guess I just have to suck it up. I also enjoy Spike's character, and early on, I enjoyed B/A, but since seasons 5 and 6, I kinda got hooked on B/S. But if you read any of my earlier stuff on Fanfiction.net it's very much B/A. Oh to be young and in love...

I'm going to retreat back to fantasy world, or dream world for now. As I get to go watch the wonderful world of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp in "Sweeney Todd" tomorrow. I wish you all a good night, and you should most likely hear from me again soon ;)

i don't know if anyone's actually going to read this, but my goal is to join a few buffy fanfic communities and begin posting there as fanfiction.net is not letting me post anything online. i had a big thing for B/A fics at the beginning of the series, so if you read those, understand they're earlier works of mine. i'm more towards the B/S pairing now, as i love the chemistry those two have. that and who can resist spike? ;)

so here i go, into the wide-world of blog-literature, and all that jazz. =)
